Dr Megan Whatley

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Megan Whatley is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is passionate about providing kind, personalised care for women at every stage of life. She offers combined obstetric and gynaecological care, supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and a wide range of gynaecological concerns.

Megan grew up and completed her schooling in rural Tasmania, where she developed a strong appreciation for community, continuity of care, and the importance of feeling known and supported by your healthcare team. This background continues to shape her warm, down-to-earth approach to patient care. She completed her medical degree at Monash University and her specialist training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Before becoming a doctor, Megan worked as an intensive care nurse, an experience that contributes to her calm, reassuring manner and strong focus on safety and teamwork. She has worked across public and private hospitals, as well as regional and remote communities, and brings broad experience in both routine and complex care.

Megan and her family are excited to return home to Tasmania after completing two years of advanced training at the Mater Mother’s Hospital in Brisbane, a tertiary referral centre where she managed high-risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological conditions.

Megan is committed to evidence-based medicine, clear communication, and partnering with women to ensure they feel informed, heard, and supported throughout their care.
